Theme for May 7, 2009

We are continuing with the theme of Practical Kabbalah and the "Techonology of the Tree" (knowing how the Tree works and impacts our daily lives). However, we are adding an area of focus; what are you attracting to yourself.

This new focus came out of tonight's discussion . One of our group talked about working at accessing the Briatic essence of herself to inform her actions at particular moments when there was a need for clarity and focused action. We were reminded of Megan's having exhorted us last week to remember that with all areas of Jacob's Ladder at our disposal we have access to the upper worlds and our higher selves. Tapping into our higher selves, we can see, if even with a small glimpse, how our essential self might act in a given situation. We would then need to have the will to live that way in the present moment.

This expanded to the whole concept of the Law of Attraction in that we can "attract" our higher self to manifest in the here and now. Our Briatic self cannot and will not "impose" itself into our Yetziratic or Assiatic world, but through an open heart and a focused will, we can through the consciousness we have in Yetzirah, access our Briatic self and through a conscious act of will, bring that essential self down into our present day self to impact, if even for a moment our Assiatic world.

We also moved into discussing the concept of time in the different worlds and how in the upper worlds time is not limited to the linear past, present and future. We discussed that in Briah, we have access to the essence of our being and how it has been expressed in past lives and, dare we say it, how it will be expressed in future lives. This allows us to "remember" when we were living in our greatness, to recall how that felt and to bring not only that feeling, but that experience of our greatness into the manifest present.

So, what are you "attracting" to your "lower" or daily self from your "higher" or timeless self to impact your present action.

Please join us as we remember each other at 12noon every day.

We are continuing with the theme of Practical Kabbalah and the "Techonology of the Tree" (knowing how the Tree works and impacts our daily lives).

Tonight we moved in several directions. The idea of Past Lives came up and how we can "access" memories of past lives to inform our path in our current life. Megan shared the story of her experience in the temple turned church in Girona in which she walked up an imaginary Tree on the floor. When she reached Keter, she turned to look down the Tree and saw an image of herself from the 13th Century standing at Malkhut. This 13th Century Megan then gave her a message that her 21st Century self needed to receive.

Jim talked about hearing a recurring theme from several sources over the past few weeks of living in the moment and being present, living from Tiferet at all times. He talked about how in our previous discussions of living from Tiferet he had always come away with how this should give us the right words to say as we speak our Truth, the ability to set an appropriate boundary or the desire to be compassionate or giving. With the input of a film, a poem and a lecture he has seen how living from Tiferet can also bring an attitude of gratitude and appreciate, of elation and humor, a lightness of being that is not dragged down by events and interactions that might normally put a damper on life.

As we talked about being at Tiferet and being the captain of the ship, the astological implications of being in our Sun at the center of our Solar System was brought up. Someone mentioned that they felt like their Moon/Yesod was currently disproportionately large and was blocking out her Sun. This brought on an elaboration of the metaphor of the Solar System and how the planets all work together to maintain the balance and consistency of the different orbits and how powerful the Sun is as the center of the system. Jim referenced Matthew Fox who talks about how the system is perfect in how each planet helps to maintain a fully working system, just as a fully balanced Tree will result in a fully functioning and conscious human being.

Much food for thought!!!

Please join us as we remember eachother at 12noon everyday.

We are continuing with the theme of Practical Kabbalah and working the Tree of Life as a tool that informs our day-to-day actions as well as sheds light on our Fate and Destiny. Bring stories of how you have seen the Tree at work in your lives.

Tonight we heard from a member who shared an experience in which she felt pulled in many directions as different Sephirah demanded attention from her as they tried to respond to the situation. We discussed the importance of remaining at Tiferet and "captaining" the ship from their rather than being pulled away from Tiferet as Gevurah, Nezah, or Hesed tries to take over. It was recalled that an exercise we have used in the past is to have two companions stand with you in a triad, one of them acting as your Gevurah and the other as Hesed, while you complete your Soul Triad at Tiferet. Gevurah and Hesed interact with Tiferet and give suggestions but do not run the show. Another member recalled doing this exercise and actually giving a controlling Gevurah a "job description" so that when Gevurah acted outside of its job description, she was able to remind it that is was not following orders.

Another member talked of how she was aware of how, as she strengthened her Assiatic body, she felt more able to receive more and clearer Briatic energy/messages and that the messages she was receiving were asking to be manifest in music which she composed on the spot. Having this language to define what was happening provided a solid vessel for understanding and the drive to stick with the process.

We invite you to remember to remember your group members at 12noon every day.

Theme for Thursday, April 16, 2009

Please note, there will be no meeting on Thursday, April 9.

We will continue to focus on Practical Kabbalah and the "technology of the Tree". Bring your stories of how you have used the Tree to inform your actions and direct your life.

Tonight Jim led us in a guided meditation. We were asked to imagine where on the Tree we need to develop, grow or mature. As we identified that place on the Tree, we imagined that place on our bodies. Then Jim had us imagine ourselves going through the activities of a normal day exercising that part of ourselves throughout the day. One of our group shared how she was able to identify different parts of her Tree that she needed to utilize throughout the day, not focusing on one area, but activating whichever part was needed for the given situation. One individual shared a specific activitiy he is motivated to do to exercise that part of himself in his life. Another individual shared how the exercise showed her that she needs to slow down and not work at making things happen all the time.

We invite you to remember the members of the group every day at 12noon.

Theme for Thursday, April 2, 2009

As this is the first Thursday of April, we will have a guided meditation this week with Jim as our guide.

Tonight we missed Megan who was attending the Kabbalah conference in Washington, DC. Though our group was small, we had a lively discussion, continuing our look at Practical Kabbalah. A Tarot card reader shared how he uses the tree explicitly with his clients, talking about the cards on the paths and the impact of knowing the placement of the cards as well as the energy of the card itself.

We also touched on the difference of coming from Yesod (ego, persona) and Tiferet (personal truth) when trying to apply different aspects of the Tree to any given situation. The motivation being different might call forth different actions, but it might not. The same action taken from different levels of consciousness may carry a different energy, perhaps elicting different responses.

We invite you to remember each other every day at 12noon.
