Theme for January 7, 2010

The theme continues to be Kabbalah and Healing with a focus on being in a state of unconditional self-acceptance.

Tonight we were led through guided meditation in which we were encouraged to return to scenes from pre-adolescence, high school, early adulthood and the present in which we had done something worthy of praise and reward, in which nothing special was happening and then in which we had done something that warranted and received some form of punishment or reprimand. In all scenes we were invited to envision receiving unconditional acceptance; in the younger scenarios from people in places of authority; parents or teachers, in the older scenes from ourselves.

The exercise was to find the unconditional quality of the acceptance, whether from another or from ourselves. Whether we had done something that would "earn" acceptance, nothing at all, or something that would normally result in punishment, we tried to imagine receiving the same unconditional acceptance. Some had trouble even imagining the unconditional acceptance coming from parents. Another realized that she has carried with her the conditional quality of her parents' acceptance of her in the inner voice that finds how she might do almost everything a little better.

We were reminded that unconditional acceptance is simply of state of being, that is constant, but does not imply a state of inertia or inactivity, as if there's no need to do any "better" since we can't "deserve" it. We looked at the metaphor of trees that loose their leaves. They are in a constant cycle, but are always in a state of unconditional acceptance, we appreciate them in every stage. Or the metaphor of the evergreen tree which doesn't reach a place of complacancy in which it just stops growing and stays the same. They continue to grow throughout their existence, becoming more and more of who they are, expressing their "Truth" more and more.

We are continuing with the exercise of unconditional self-acceptance, but we opened the door at the end of this evening to the idea of how we are unconditionally accepting of others, as well. Something to consider.

Remember to remember each other at 12noon every day.

Happy Holidays everyone. We'll see you in the New Year.

Theme for December 3, 2009

We will hold with the theme of Kabbalah and Healing and giving to ourselves unconditional self-acceptance. We will of course not meet next week on Thanksgiving.

Tonight was very rich. We talked about the season of moving into Winter and the longer nights and shorter days. For most of human history this was a time of rest and introspection. The harvest has been completed, our storehouses filled and we went into our "caves" as winter overcame our lives and rested, anticipating the coming of Spring, but taking advantage of the rest. Now we live in a time when electricity overcomes the dark, life is fast-paced and the commercialization of the holidays does not allow for a moments rest. In this time we are called to give ourselves unconditional self-acceptance for not following the manic lead of the world around us and for finding ways to rest.

We were also reminded of the difference between self-love (action/right pillar) and self-acceptance (state of being/central pillar) and were challenged to think about what we would experience on the left pillar. Possibilities were self-containment, self-understanding, and self-allowance. There was no consensus, but our thoughts were stirred.

The question was also raised of Yesod's role in a positive central pillar experience. We get used to thinking of Yesod from a negative perspective, as being a weight that pulls us down out of our Truth at Tiferet or denies our Truth in a display of false humility. We were reminded that Yesod is our center of imagination and dreamtime. The this is our persona and when we are accessing Tiferet, it is our Yesod that portrays that to the world. A companion is going through the process of writing a resume and cover letter for a job application and was challenged by a friend to be more truthful about her accomplishments and accolades from her peers and community. She identified her "weak" Yesod which was not accessing the truth about her accomplishments. We agreed that the truth is just that and does not imply arrogance or inflation when stated clearly.

We were also reminded of the psychological healing of facing the truth of our station in life. Death can come at any time. We do not need to fear it and in fact can have a real freedom and psychological stability when we acknowledge that the "darkness is rising" even in the basic process of aging, but that there is peace in true consciousness of the central pillar, where we have unconditional self-acceptance.

Remember, no meeting on Thanksgiving. There will be a meditation on Dec 3 and we will not meet the rest of December. After December 3 we will not meet until January 7.

Remember to think of your companions at 12noon daily.

Theme for Thursday, November 19, 2009

We will continue with the theme of Kabbalah and Healing holding our focus on giving ourselves unconditional self-acceptance.

Tonight we had some excellent conversation around the whole idea of self-acceptance. We all agreed that it is not an easy assignment. Thoughts of worthiness keep coming into the mind. Internal dialogs that say, once I do this, change this about myself, overcome this bad habit, then I will be able to give myself unconditional self-acceptance. We re-visited the difference between self-acceptance and self-love, acknowledging that the biggest difference is that self-love is an act from the right pillar, self-acceptance is a state of being on the central pillar.

It seems that going into a place of self-acceptance initiates a desire to be better; not out of a desire to be more worthy, but as if the state of self-acceptance isa magnet to be more true to oneself. It feels as if the ability to give self-acceptance is an expression of our divine self since part of the human condition is to place conditions on things and self-acceptance would require alot of conditions from a human perspective.

Another block to unconditional self-acceptance can be the need to overcome a sense of guilt. When we tried to place this idea on the Tree it was agreed that guilt can be placed anywhere (we may feel guilty for our instinctive drives, Netzah, or our bodies, Malkhut, etc), but that in most cases guilt will be centered around Yesod in that we are not living up to an image that is expected of us and that these expectations come primarily from the four side triads.

We also spoke generally of healing on the left pillar, specifically on the path between Gevurah and Hod where the Hanged Man from the Tarot is placed. This card brings with it the opportunity to see things from a different perspective. So that as we move from the place of Hod, where we get clear communication and process it is perhaps a new way, we create a cleaner, healthier container for ourselves at Gevurah which may allow for a "new perspective".

We also spoke of the need for self-acceptance when acting outside our confort zone in a way that we have previously felt to be negative. This was brought out in a discussion about facing animal energy with animal energy. The distinction being an animal person with access to one's Tiferet as opposed to someone consumed by their animal energy to the point of acting outside of one's truth.

Continue to practice giving yourself unconditional self-acceptance. Practice it every day. In fact, you could add it to your exercise of remembering your companions at 12noon every day. Of course you don't have to limit yourself to just that one time a day!

Theme for November 12, 2009

We continue with the theme Kabbalah and Healing with a focus on giving ourselves unconditional self-acceptance.

Tonight Megan took us through the Pilgrim's Journey meditation. We were all invited to be Pilgrims on a journey to the holy city of Jerusalem. It was interesting to observe how we each experienced the different levels as we ascended up through Jacob's Ladder to the Holy of Holies in the temple of the heavenly city. Few of us wanted to return.

Continue to remember eachother at 12noon and to give yourself unconditional self-acceptance.

October 29, 2009

Theme for Thursday, November 5, 2009

The ongoing theme is Kabbalah and Healing. The specific focus was mis-identified last week. Rather than focusing on giving ourselves unconditional love, we are giving ourselves unconditional self-acceptance. Unconditional self-love is also a good thing, but it is not the specific task at hand for now.

The distinction is clear when we look at the Tree. Love is a Right Piller function. It was discussed and clarified that acceptance is a Central Pillar experience. Left and Right Pillar activities are actions; setting boundaries (Gevurah), communicating (Hod), following instincts (Netzah), etc. Central Pillar experiences are about states of being and being in a state of unconditional self-acceptance it about being. Accepting one's self in this way is not about living up to some inner or outer standard or about finding oneself worthy. Self-acceptance is a state of being at peace with oneself regardless or what has just happened. It is not an avoidance of responsibility, accepting oneself inspite of a known weakness or fault, just simple unconditional self-acceptance.

The question was raised, what exactly is unconditional. Part of the answer was given above; no standards and no measure of worthiness - no conditions. There is no "First this or that, then I can accept myself." It is not because of or in spite of anything, it just is.

It was brought up that there are many things that may stop us from self-acceptance, which all fly in the face of the unconditional aspect we are striving for; shame, guilt, fear were a few that came up. One companion shared how she felt a degree of shame because she was asking for something that others in her position haven't needed. Two others expressed their guilt at taking naps in the middle of the day, as if they shouldn't feel the need to do so. All expressed difficulty finding the space to give unconditional self-acceptance in the midst of these experiences.

Let's strive together to give ourselves unconditional self-acceptance in the midst of whatever is happening when we remember this important task.

Remember that next week is the first Thursday of November, so Megan will be leading us in a meditation.

Also, remember eachother at 12noon, recalling the faces of your companions and sending them love and healing.

October 22, 2009

Theme for October 29, 2009

We are continuing the theme of Kabbalah and healing with the specific "task" of giving ourselves unconditional love as a healing practice.

The specific task came out of the discussion tonight that focused around attracting healing to ourselves by our conscious desire to be open to and facilitate healing for ourselves. Though specific healing may require specific intent, general healing and an overall sense of well-being can start with self love. The unconditional aspect of this "task" means no negative filters - I don't deserve this - no pre-conditions - I'll love myself once I do this or that - and no limits - ok, that's enough.

This all began this evening with a companion telling how she has remembered how a part of her, a very positive, fun-loving part, has been supressed for a long time. She shared how she went through a self-guided meditation to talk to this part of herself to ask her what she was like, how she was feeling and what she needed. Then "out of the blue" an individual who was involved with the process of supression called her and they had a very open and honest discussion about that time. This prompted a discussion about consciously inviting or unconsciously attracting to ourselves what we need for healing.

Another companion spoke of having an old wound open up in relation to a sibling who has been deceased for some time. He said he thought he had "worked it all out" with his brother, but something "triggered" him this last week.

This prompted a move to discussing how intent and will are involved in the process of healing. Because, for the most part, we are talking (for now) about healing in Yetzirah, or the Psyche, it was agreed that we must bring our intention and will into play. It was recalled that it was once said that "No one can make you angry, you have to choose to respond that way." We are or can be more incontrol of our reactions than we often give ourselves credit. When a trigger occurs, we have the choice, through an act of will, to allow the trigger to initiate the same negative response, or we can choose to stop the knee-jerk reaction and respond differently.

So, try setting your intention to love yourself unconditionally this week; not because you deserve it (even though you do!) and without any filters or parameters, just love yourself.

Remember your companions at 12noon every day and we'll see you next week.

Theme for October 1, 2009

We will continue with the theme of Kabbalah and Healing with the focus of: What healing are you calling into your life right now? We will hold this over for two weeks since next week is the first of October and therefore a meditation night.

Tonight we had an open floor for any thoughts, experiences, reflections on Kabbalah and Healing. The first to shared spoke of her experience of discovering in her current work-group a Rabbi who recognized her doodlings of the Tree of Life. He approached her with an open heart and mind saying that in his tradition they have a slightly different version of the Tree (no paths between Hod and Malkhut and Netzah and Malkhut) which initiated a dialog that has been ongoing and very lively. Our companion shared how she has reflected on one conversation the two of them had about the Divine Marriage and how her commitment to the Kabbalah and the Divine Marriage has brought alot of change in her life, including the break-up of her marriage. She commented on how though this has been a tumultuous it has been healing.

Another companion shared how her experience at work has brought her to the point of leaving her job. She is in a place of spiritual leadership and shared how there has been mixed reaction to the news of her immanent departure. She saw this mixed reaction as representing the influence of very different Intellectual Concepts on the part of her congregation. Since making her decision to leave she has felt a great sense of healing in her body, soul and spirit as a result of this process. We were all reminded of the concept of "As Above, So Below" and how it works in reverse, too.

Both stories reminded us of the influence of the upper side triads of the Passive and Active Intellectual Concepts. The "shoulds" that we shoulder from our family and cultural inheritance and the impact of our Intellectual Concepts coming up against other people's Intellectual Concepts and how much easier it is to deal with our own and other's Concepts when we are more conscious and able to filter our concepts from having as much of an impact on our behavior and self-image as when we were less conscious.

The side triads were the focus of attention for the rest of the evening and showed up when another companion shared about her struggle with having a gift that she doesn't know what to do with. As she discussed her situation, it was pointed out how many statements she made that seem to come from the upper side triads; statements with the word "should" or "must" or "can't" that indicated some kind of training in her thinking. She was grateful for having this pointed out.

Several companions expressed an appreciation for the group as a safe place in which they can discuss such matters and which promotes their growth and conscious dealings with the Intellectual Concepts they were born with.

We also heard several dreams this evening. Some good feedback/insights were shared about the dreams. It seemed the discussion around the dreams was helpful to those who had received them.

We look forward to a meditation next week.

Remember to remember your companions at 12noon every day.

Theme for Thursday, September 24, 2009

We will have an open theme of Kabbalah and Healing.

Tonight was a check-in night after a 6 week break. We opened the floor to any reflections of the last month and a half and how the Tree of Life or Jacob's Ladder have been present in our lives.

Megan started with a greeting from companions around the world who we were priveleged to meet at the Kabbalistic Summer School in England during the first week of September, but most specifically from our teacher, Warren Kenton.

Two of our members who are teachers both shared how the Tree of Life has informed their teaching. One who used the Tree explicitly in her teachings with an adult audience who found the tool very helpful. Almost more importantly was how she felt free to use the Tree and share this very important aspect of her life. The other example was from a companion who teaches high school students. She looks forward to teaching the Tree (and possibly having Megan come to teach part of that class) in her World Religions class. She shared how she has free license to not only teach World Religions but to provide experiential classes in which the students get to go through rituals designed to help them bring the tradition under consideration into their bodies as well as their minds.

Another companion shared her experience of training in a particular Japanese healing modality and how clearly she saw Kabbalistic principles throughout her learning. Still another companion shared how she saw our President holding his Tiferet during the speech he gave before Congress in the face of an unprecidented outburst from a Senator. This brought on a longer discussion of the phenomenon of the side triads of Intellectual Concepts and how impactful they are on all of us, but how unconsciously impactful they are on most of the population, to the point of a large portion of the population being swayed to believe that the President's health plan would lead to "death camps" for the elderly. A preposterous idea to most, but still one that is being promoted and believed by a large group of people who have no access to Tiferet and who subjugate their own Tiferet to others who then set the agenda that is accepted without much reflection and truth. We were encouraged by another companion to remember that this phenomenon is just a physical manifestation of a psychological phenomenon going on within these people. That they may be feeling like death camps are around the corner for them based on their world view and this is just an Assiatic expression of Yetziratic emotions.

Finally let me share a sentiment shared by another companion who shared a real personal victory which she attributed in part to her participation in the group and the support she feels from that participation. She has shared in the past how she has had experiences of becoming ungrounded when she has life experiences of higher aspects of the Tree. She recently attended a conference in which she was able to have a "trance" experience and maintain a feeling of groundedness which allowed her to maintain an appropriate demeanor when in the past she might have become distracting to others as she could not contain her ecstatic experience. She was thrilled with this most recent grounded ecstatic experience. At the end of the meeting she expressed her heart-felt appreciation for having found the group and for the support she feels from the group. There was a general consensus of this same sentiment from the whole group.

Remember, be mindful of your companions at 12 noon.

July 31, 2009

Theme for Thursday, September 17, 2009

The general theme continues to be Kabbalah and Healing. The specific theme for the next 6 weeks during which we will not be meeting, is to be aware of the "Trees within the Tree". Explanation below.

Tonights discussion was started with a reminder of the importance of the body in healing. This is our physical vehicle, and if psychological or spiritual healing is needed, there will be some connection with the body in that healing process. Megan reminded us that our physical bodies are the stage for all healing and that there are many methods to healing; physical touch, energy work, verbal work, etc.

One companion shared about her recent experience in Sedona while attending a conference. There was an annointing ritual in which she said each chakra was opened, as if "each chakra had a DAAT experience". This prompted a reminder that each Sephira or Sapphire on the Tree of Life has its own Tree; so that there is a Nezahian Tree, a Gevuric Tree, etc. This took us on to a great discussion of the implications for greater or deeper self-understanding. We looked closely at the Sephira of Netzah and said that as we look at Netzah in our lives, we might ask ourselves questions around each Sephirah and its support or our Netzah. So...

Malkhut - Am I embodying or holding my instincts in my body?
Yesod - Do I allow my instincts to be expressed in my persona?
Hod - Do I clearly communicate my instints?
Neztah - Am I in touch with my instincts?
Tiferet - Do I personally acknowledge my instincts as my own (not directed unconsciously by my side triads)?
Gevurah - Do I have healthy boundaries when expressing my instincts?
Hesed - Do I express my instincts with love and compassion?
Daat - Do I have knowledge, through direct experience, of my instincts?
Binah - Am I able to reflect with patience on my life and bring self-understanding through my experience of my instincts?
Hochkmah - When my instincts are spontaneously brought to the surface, am I able to experience them?
Keter - Are my instincts in line with my Higher/Divine Self?

There's a fine line between the Tree of Life as we study it regularly and the Tree for each Serphira. As you can see from the list above, the questions all relate to the inquirer's Netzah. This process may help us understand where we need healing or development if, for instance, as we create a series of questions like the above list for each Sephira, we see that we need to develope the same Sephira in each instance. Perhaps our communication of each Sephira is weak, lacking or consistently mis-understood. Then we know that we need to work generally on our Hod. Over the next 6 weeks take some time to reflect on your "Trees within the Tree" to see if you observe a trend and identify a clearer picture of the health of your Tree.

See you on Sept 17th.

Remember to hold your companions in your thoughts during the break, particulalry at 12noon daily.

July 23, 2009

Theme for July 30, 2009

We are continuing with the theme of Kabbalah and Healing. Bring your thoughts on and experiences of the subject.

Tonight we started with where we left off last week on the subject of miracles. We were reminded that it is a miracle in itself that we are even here. Not generally as humans in the created order of things, but more personally as we reflect on our journeys and our heritage and how we have come to be where we are. One companion shared how her family, through a series of events that were inconvenient and terribly trying at the time, survived the holocaust, providing her with the ancestry that survived to bring her into being. That in itself is a miracle.

Another interesting subject that was touched on is the role of our will in healing and how some individuals stay in a place of un-wholeness by choice, conscious or not, as they fear the unknown future if healing came to them. This reminded us of something that had come up several weeks ago when we discussed the awareness of time at different levels on the Tree. Someone existing at Yesod and the lower kite, or Nefesh, will typically be consumed with the past and allow their past to rule their present. Any change may be challenging or cause fear because it will change life from what they have known and as horrible as it may appear to an outsider, it is known and therefore, comfortable. Someone living at Tiferent, the Soul or Neshemah, is able to live in the present, experiencing the Eternal Now, as they bring their past with them and move into the future. Someone accessing their Spirit or Ruah self will have a future oriented mind-set that allows the possibilities of the future to motivate and influence their present. We were reminded that our goal is to have each of these awarenesses or levels of consciousness available to us as needed.

Finally, I'll mention the idea that for Yetziratic or psychological healing, if not physical and spiritual healing as well, to be complete, it was suggested that there is a need to get to the true bottom-line, the original hurt or injury to bring real and lasting healing. To try to bring healing at a mid-stream point will be helpful but probably not fully effective without getting a the true source/cause of the pain.

Lots of food for thought tonight!

Please show your discipline and respect for your companions by arriving on time. It is important to be present for the invocation as we create the sacred space for the meeting. If you know you are going to be late, please let us know ahead of time. If you are late, please come in as quietly as possible and settle in quickly to minimize the distraction.

Remember your companions at 12noon, sending both love and healing to all.

July 16, 2009

Theme for Thursday, July 23, 2009

We will continue with the theme of Kabbalah and Healing; using the Tree of Life and Jacob's Ladder as tools and models for healing. Bring your personal experiences!!

This evening the discussion was centered around the question of pain and whether we as humans have the ability to experience pain without suffering. As it was put, to be so in our Spirit or even Divine bodies so as to be isolated from the suffering as we translate the pain into ecstacy or bliss. We discussed the idea of integration in our 4 body existence and the importance of being in the physical body and the learning that comes from being in the body. There was a general consensus that this raising up above or beyond pain should not be used an avoidance of or separation from the physical body and the pain that inevitably comes with life, but to experience the pain from a higher level and to see the learning and thereby achieve a degree of ecstacy in the pain.

We also talked about miracles of healing. It was pointed out that we should have an expectation or at least a hope in the possibility of miracles as a result of faith, as Jesus said to the woman healed after touching the hem of his garment, "Your faith has made you whole." But we also agreed that to expect a miracle to the point of becoming disappointed that one does not come is not good and can hinder our natural growth and learning from the situation in which we yearn for the miracle. It was also pointed out that miracles are happening around us every day. We ourselves participate in bringing healing if not to ourselves then to those around us. It was pointed out that we must not reserve the title "miracle" to the extra-ordinary and/or to divine intervention. As co-creators, we may be the bringers of miracles in so far as without our participation or contribution, a great or small but significant thing may not occur.

Keep the theme on the forefront of your thinking. As was discussed this evening, intention is a key element in healing. And so, intention is a key element in our learning and our life experience.

Remember your companions at 12 noon.

July 09, 2009

Theme for July 16, 2009

We will be looking at Kabbalah and Healing. This can take many forms and impact all aspects of our being. Healing can take place in your Assiatic (physical) body, Yetziratic (psychological or Soul) body, and Briatic (spirit) body. Be aware of your own experiences of healing, and your intentional participation in your own healing.

Tonight we had a very interesting discussion. We got on the subject of the Tree of Life being an example of sacred geometry and how images of sacred geometry carry energy that aids and contributes to healing. This lead to a discussion generally of energy and its contribution to healing and the different sources of energy; sacred geometry, relationship (one-on-one and community), personal intention, etc. We were reminded of the study of the effects of physical affection on new born infants. A study was shared in which a doctor had images of brains of healthy 3 year olds and of 3 year olds who had been deprived of physical affection. Those who had lacked affection had physically smaller and underdeveloped brains.

At some piont we got on to the need for our Yesod or ego to participate, cooperate and even support healing at the higher levels of the Tree. This lead to identifying the dynamic principals of working the whole of the Tree and the need for the "Captain" of the ship at Tiferet to be in control. The concept of "spiritual bypass" came up as another defense against real health, supporting the need of a strong and active Tiferet in the healing process.

Bring with you next week your own experiences of your own healing process.

Join us in remember your companions daily at 12noon.

Theme for July 9, 2009

We will dive deeper into the newly agreed upon theme of Kabbalah and Healing. Still trying to make this exercise as practical as possible, bring examples of how you use the Tree to bring personal healing to yourself at any and all levels; physical, psychological (ego), personal (Soul), and/or transpersonal (Spirit).

Tonight Megan led us through a great meditation. We were invited to invision our inner guides taking us to various venues for healing at the different levels associated with the Sephirot on the Central Column of the Tree. A consensus was reached in the ensuing discussion that we were all challenged and thankful for how the meditation brought us to distinctions of "injuries" that needed healing at the different levels. There are, for instance, basic and very real differences between ego and Soul traumas and between Soul and Spirit traumas. Megan utilized conscious breathing techniques to help us release (exhale) injury and receive (inhale) healing. It was a great evening.

Join us next week as we continue to share our experiences of healing. Bring your personal examples!!

Join us as well in remember our companions at 12 noon every day.

We will meet through the month of July and take a break until September 17th when we will reconvene.

Blessings!!

Theme for July 9, 2009

We will continue on the general theme of Practical Kabbalah. However, we have introduced a new sub-theme of Practical Kabbalah and Healing. This is in preparation for the International Kabbalah Conference that our group will be hosting in October, 2010. We asked the group to be thinking generally about this theme over the next two weeks, as next week will be a meditation led by Megan.

Tonight we started off discussing the theme of what are you attracting through specific statements of will. One student elaborated on what she had shared a few weeks ago about attracting a mind free of negative self-statements. She shared how in the absense of negative voices, she has found a positive voice that was supporting her and which encouraged the physical healing she has been working on for years. She was also able to report that she has had signs of physical healing based on recent blood tests.

We heard from another member who shared how she experienced a greater sense of inner boundaries as she found herself in a situation in which she was able to clearly hold off external attacks on her truth by not taking them in negative statements coming at her from another individual. She reported that she did not outwardly confront the other individual, but was able to hold at bay her own voices that might have allowed the other's words to sink in. She reported that she was able to hold to her truth and not take in the negative energy being thrown at her by the other person.

We began to discuss the new theme of Kabbalah and Healing. Megan stated that through her own guidance, we have accepted leadership of the next international Kabbalah conference in October next year. So it was agreed that we should start to focus on this theme and expand our usual "contemplative" (Thought Triad) method of study and incorporate more "devotional" (Feeling Triad) and "ritual" (Action Triad) methods.

Next week is a meditation which will be led by Megan.

Join us in remembering each other at 12 noon each day.

Theme for June 18, 2009

We remain on the topic of Practical Kabbalah with an emphasis on what we are attracting to ourselves. We are sticking with the idea of what is our intent or what are we intentionally attracting to ourselves. The specific assignment is to use verbal statements of attraction, like "Today, I am living from my higher self."

Tonight we had a great example of the assignment being played out in one of our member's life. She highlighted two aspects of what we are aspiring to at all times as we access our individual Tiferets to be at the best place to attract our higher self; first, she knew the peace or calm of being at Tiferet in the midst of others who were angsting over a family situation. She acknowledged her ability to stay in a fairly neutral place where she could access the truth of the situation without reacting to the behavior of those around her. Secondly, she described how she seemed to naturally fall into that place, without the need to consciously decide to go there. How she fulfilled the weekly assignment is through her conscious attraction of higher self presence in relation to the family situation in which all this happened.

The discussion moved into how intent, purpose and will come into play in our ability to attract the right "stuff" to ourselves. We also talked about the different levels of will that are available to us; vegetable will which is willlessness, animal will which is willfullness (in both its positive and negative expressions) and human will which is free will, which was pointed out includes a high degree of submission to the highest or divine will.

So as you think about the law of attraction, bring your intention to fulfill your purpose through free will and express what you want to attract to your self through positive statements that are present in nature, as if what you are attracting is already in place.

Remember to remember your companions at 12noon!!!

Theme for June 11, 2009

We remain on the topic of Practical Kabbalah with an emphasis on what you are attracting to yourself. We add the flavor of what is your intent or what are you intentionally attracting to yourself. The specific assignment is to use verbal statements of attraction, like "Today, I am living from my higher self."

On Thursday we had a meditation led by Jim. We were presented with two scenarios, the first was something from our past that did not go so well, primarily because we did not bring our higher self to the interaction. We were allowed to re-play the scenario as if we had brought our higher self and witnessed how this addition changed the interaction. We then were taken through an exercise of envisioning ourselves waking in the morning and inviting our higher selves to be present by making the statement, "Today, I am living from my higher self." We were then taken through a scenario in which we encountered someone with whom we are currently in conflict to envision how that interaction might go were we already living from our higher self. The Law of Attraction operates under the influence of our own conscious thoughts. So, what are you consciously attracting to yourself? Bring examples of how it is working in your life on Thursday. Remember to wake up at 12noon every day and bring to mind your companions on the path.

May 28, 2009

Theme for June 4, 2009

Next week will be a meditation led by Jim. The theme of the meditation will follow the theme of our recent discussions, what are you attracting to yourself.

Tonights discussion was again about what we are attracting and using the Tree to help us define how this works. We were reminded that ultimately, or perhaps ideally, what we are attracting to ourself is our higher self. When we envision what it is we want to attract, hopefully, it falls in line with our higher self. The goal we discovered is to be intentional about it and clear with what we are wanting to attract. One member shared how she had created a vision board around a particular area of her life. Within a very short period of time, virtually every aspect of the vision board had come true. She was then aware that there were some elements missing from the board and she will revisit it to fill it out more clearly. So intention, clarity and thoroughness became critical elements of attracting the most appropriate things to ourselves. Of course we have to allow for learning, as our commrade discovered, as we try to define with clarity and refinement what it is we wish to attract.

As mentioned, next week is a meditation. Come with an open heart and mind to receive images to take with you for learning and growth.

Remember to remember each other at 12 noon each day.

Have a great week!!

We are sticking with the general theme of Practical Kabbalah with the focus on "What are you attracting to yourself?". The theory being that what we put out is what we draw to ourselves. If we put out the vibration of our Soul, our Truth, our Tiferet we will attract more of the same.

Tonight we continued to look at the Techonology of the Tree and how we can use it to attract life events to ourselves rather than simply living in the vegetable wheel of the lower face. We were reminded that it is from the place of the Soul Triad in our Yetziratic Tree that we can receive from above. The ideal is that we attract our higher or Briatic and Azilutic selves to our Yetziratic and Assiatic selves. One member shared how she has been concentrating on attracting her true self, not specific qualities, but her true self. She shared how as she has been more and more successful at this, she has found that in her day to day life she feels like she has more time. She attributes this to not giving time to her false self which tended to consume a lot of time and energy to wondering why things weren't better.

Another member shared how she had received a very prestigious award and we were reminded that the law of attraction also has a karmic quality to it in that we reap what we sow. After years of carrying out the tasks of her "job" she was recognized at a very high level for the quality of how she performed her job. So the law of attraction works as a result of our intentional living as well as our intentional thinking and consciousness.

Next week is the last Thursday of May, so come with your own life experiences of attracting to yourself what you want to manifest in your life.

We also remind you to join us in remembering your companions at 12 noon every day.

We are sticking with the general theme of Practical Kabbalah with the focus on "What are you attracting to yourself". The theory being that what we put out is what we draw to ourselves. If we put out the vibration of our Soul, our Truth, our Tiferet we will attract more of the same.

Tonight Megan took us through a guided meditation. We grounded ourselves before setting out on a journey to our Inner Temple. On the journey we were accompanied by our Animal Soul. Upon arriving at the Temple, we were provided a place to "cleanse" ourselves of all distractions and self-doubt about our ability to live out our truth. Once in the temple we were directed to the place of visions and invited to envision ourselves living out our true Selves, our purpose, our Fate in this life. We were then instructed to allow this vision to expand beyond the Assiatic or Physical body, to the Yetziratic or Psychological body, to the Briatic or Spirit body, to our Azilutic or Divine body. We were then encouraged to hold the feeling of what it is like to be living our Truth. Someone felt relief, another felt full. If you were not with us, take some time to quiet yourself and to allow a vision of your True Self to awaken in your being and to expand to fill out all four of your "bodies". Hold that vision and aspire to manifest it in your daily life.

Strive with us to remember eachother at 12noon daily. And while you are holding this image of eachother, hold up the image of your True Self and allow it to be drawn closer and closer to you today as you envision it coming to be!!

Blessings on each and every one of you and me.

Theme for May 7, 2009

We are continuing with the theme of Practical Kabbalah and the "Techonology of the Tree" (knowing how the Tree works and impacts our daily lives). However, we are adding an area of focus; what are you attracting to yourself.

This new focus came out of tonight's discussion . One of our group talked about working at accessing the Briatic essence of herself to inform her actions at particular moments when there was a need for clarity and focused action. We were reminded of Megan's having exhorted us last week to remember that with all areas of Jacob's Ladder at our disposal we have access to the upper worlds and our higher selves. Tapping into our higher selves, we can see, if even with a small glimpse, how our essential self might act in a given situation. We would then need to have the will to live that way in the present moment.

This expanded to the whole concept of the Law of Attraction in that we can "attract" our higher self to manifest in the here and now. Our Briatic self cannot and will not "impose" itself into our Yetziratic or Assiatic world, but through an open heart and a focused will, we can through the consciousness we have in Yetzirah, access our Briatic self and through a conscious act of will, bring that essential self down into our present day self to impact, if even for a moment our Assiatic world.

We also moved into discussing the concept of time in the different worlds and how in the upper worlds time is not limited to the linear past, present and future. We discussed that in Briah, we have access to the essence of our being and how it has been expressed in past lives and, dare we say it, how it will be expressed in future lives. This allows us to "remember" when we were living in our greatness, to recall how that felt and to bring not only that feeling, but that experience of our greatness into the manifest present.

So, what are you "attracting" to your "lower" or daily self from your "higher" or timeless self to impact your present action.

Please join us as we remember each other at 12noon every day.

Theme for Thursday April 30, 2009

We are continuing with the theme of Practical Kabbalah and the "Techonology of the Tree" (knowing how the Tree works and impacts our daily lives).

Tonight we moved in several directions. The idea of Past Lives came up and how we can "access" memories of past lives to inform our path in our current life. Megan shared the story of her experience in the temple turned church in Girona in which she walked up an imaginary Tree on the floor. When she reached Keter, she turned to look down the Tree and saw an image of herself from the 13th Century standing at Malkhut. This 13th Century Megan then gave her a message that her 21st Century self needed to receive.

Jim talked about hearing a recurring theme from several sources over the past few weeks of living in the moment and being present, living from Tiferet at all times. He talked about how in our previous discussions of living from Tiferet he had always come away with how this should give us the right words to say as we speak our Truth, the ability to set an appropriate boundary or the desire to be compassionate or giving. With the input of a film, a poem and a lecture he has seen how living from Tiferet can also bring an attitude of gratitude and appreciate, of elation and humor, a lightness of being that is not dragged down by events and interactions that might normally put a damper on life.

As we talked about being at Tiferet and being the captain of the ship, the astological implications of being in our Sun at the center of our Solar System was brought up. Someone mentioned that they felt like their Moon/Yesod was currently disproportionately large and was blocking out her Sun. This brought on an elaboration of the metaphor of the Solar System and how the planets all work together to maintain the balance and consistency of the different orbits and how powerful the Sun is as the center of the system. Jim referenced Matthew Fox who talks about how the system is perfect in how each planet helps to maintain a fully working system, just as a fully balanced Tree will result in a fully functioning and conscious human being.

Much food for thought!!!

Please join us as we remember eachother at 12noon everyday.

We are continuing with the theme of Practical Kabbalah and working the Tree of Life as a tool that informs our day-to-day actions as well as sheds light on our Fate and Destiny. Bring stories of how you have seen the Tree at work in your lives.

Tonight we heard from a member who shared an experience in which she felt pulled in many directions as different Sephirah demanded attention from her as they tried to respond to the situation. We discussed the importance of remaining at Tiferet and "captaining" the ship from their rather than being pulled away from Tiferet as Gevurah, Nezah, or Hesed tries to take over. It was recalled that an exercise we have used in the past is to have two companions stand with you in a triad, one of them acting as your Gevurah and the other as Hesed, while you complete your Soul Triad at Tiferet. Gevurah and Hesed interact with Tiferet and give suggestions but do not run the show. Another member recalled doing this exercise and actually giving a controlling Gevurah a "job description" so that when Gevurah acted outside of its job description, she was able to remind it that is was not following orders.

Another member talked of how she was aware of how, as she strengthened her Assiatic body, she felt more able to receive more and clearer Briatic energy/messages and that the messages she was receiving were asking to be manifest in music which she composed on the spot. Having this language to define what was happening provided a solid vessel for understanding and the drive to stick with the process.

We invite you to remember to remember your group members at 12noon every day.

Please note, there will be no meeting on Thursday, April 9.

We will continue to focus on Practical Kabbalah and the "technology of the Tree". Bring your stories of how you have used the Tree to inform your actions and direct your life.

Tonight Jim led us in a guided meditation. We were asked to imagine where on the Tree we need to develop, grow or mature. As we identified that place on the Tree, we imagined that place on our bodies. Then Jim had us imagine ourselves going through the activities of a normal day exercising that part of ourselves throughout the day. One of our group shared how she was able to identify different parts of her Tree that she needed to utilize throughout the day, not focusing on one area, but activating whichever part was needed for the given situation. One individual shared a specific activitiy he is motivated to do to exercise that part of himself in his life. Another individual shared how the exercise showed her that she needs to slow down and not work at making things happen all the time.

We invite you to remember the members of the group every day at 12noon.

As this is the first Thursday of April, we will have a guided meditation this week with Jim as our guide.

Tonight we missed Megan who was attending the Kabbalah conference in Washington, DC. Though our group was small, we had a lively discussion, continuing our look at Practical Kabbalah. A Tarot card reader shared how he uses the tree explicitly with his clients, talking about the cards on the paths and the impact of knowing the placement of the cards as well as the energy of the card itself.

We also touched on the difference of coming from Yesod (ego, persona) and Tiferet (personal truth) when trying to apply different aspects of the Tree to any given situation. The motivation being different might call forth different actions, but it might not. The same action taken from different levels of consciousness may carry a different energy, perhaps elicting different responses.

We invite you to remember each other every day at 12noon.

Join us for the ongoing discussion of Practical Kabbalah and how to use the "Technology of the Tree" to inform and direct our day-to-day lives.

Tonight the first to share asked about how to be in relation with another when they were working from a different part of the Tree than you are. This brought up a very lively discussion of the concept of others providing "mirroring" for us and the necessity of being in a place of willingness and intentioin to learn from the mirroring. We discussed how we can view the image in the mirror from different places of consciousness and how if we see this psychological mirror from Yesod, our ego, we may see the image as distorting the Truth. We used the analogy of the messages on mirrors on cars that say, "Caution, images in mirror are closer than they seem." It was suggested that the message on these psychological mirrors might read, "Caution, images best viewed when one is at Tiferet."

Another member shared how she has to remain conscious of the Tree and the need for her to stay at Tiferet as much as possible as the demands of her job are pulling and stretching her. She described it as feeling the weight of the department on her shoulders. Megan had just reminded us of "awakening" the Tree on our bodies when we go through the Invocation, so we were all quick to notice how she was describing the psychological weight of the issues at work weighing down her Soul Triad.

If was a very fruitful discussion. Please join us as you are able in the coming weeks as we continue to discuss Practical Kabbalah. Megan and Ruth will be in Washington, DC next week, at a Kabbalah conference, so Jim will take the group.

We also invite you to remember your fellow Kabbalists every day at 12 noon, where ever you you may be.

Join us for the ongoing discussion of Practical Kabbalah and how to use the Tree of Life to inform and direct our day-to-day lives.

Tonight we continued discussing the "techology of the Tree". Megan asked "Why should we know the Technology of the Tree?" It was agreed that to know the tree is to have a useful tool for staying on track and for bringing ourselves back on track when we find ourselves wandering from our true path. One member talked about how a teacher he had learned from years ago taught how all of life is a mirror for us as we invite what comes our way by our thoughts and attitudes. We talked about how it is necessary to be at Tiferet, our Truth, in order to be open to this type of mirroring to learn the lessons that we have invited to ourselves.

Anothe member talked about how she had been experiencing an "enmeshment" of her personal Tree with others and how hard it has been, and important, to disentangle her Tree from the others. We followed this line of thinking to discuss Family Systems and how one person changing their "role" in a family system will change the system and require others to shift to compensate for the change. When we do this consciously, hopefully, we can raise the consciousness of those around us, depending on their openness to the change.

It was also brought up how important, from the perspective of Jacob's Ladder, that we maintain a healthy physical body, Assiatic Tree, to provide a stable vessel for our upper three Trees to thrive and flourish. If we neglect our physical body, we are not helping our psychological, spiritual and divine bodies.

Practical Kabbalah remains our theme. Join us next week with your own examples of how you apply the practical lessons of the Tree in your life.

We also invite you to remember your fellow Kabbalists every day at 12 noon, where ever you are.

Join us this week for the ongoing discussion of Practical Kabbalah and how to make the Tree of Life accessable in our day-to-day lives.

Tonight Megan lead us on a journey through guided meditation. She brought us to our inner place of safety and sanctuary where we grounded ourselves (Malkhut), put on a costume (Yesod), met a supporting group of Drummers (Feeling Triad), Warriors (Gevurah) and Healers (Healers), along with our animal nature (Animal/Awakening Triad) and were blessed with gifts from the Great Grandmother (Binah) and the Great Grandfather (Hochmah) who drew a sacred circle around us (our Tiferet). From this sacred place we were taken on a journey to our futures; 1, 5 and 10 years out, being guided by our Animal Spirits. Everyone was blessed with clarity in their meditations and great insight was given throughout.

We continue to have "Practical Kabbalah" as our theme. Join us next week with examples of how you used the Tree to shed light on your path in practical ways as you walked your Path this week.

We invite you to remember your fellow Kabbalists every day at 12 noon.

Theme for Thursday, March 5, 2009

Join us this week as our continuing theme of "Practical Kabbalah" is brought home to us through a guided meditation led by Megan.

Tonight we heard from several members about how they "used the Tree" this week in different scenarios. One member got locked out of his house and made conscious efforts to stay at Tiferet to get out of a fit of anger towards himself. Another member told of how he has contemplated the Tree (and where he needs to be on the Tree) as he goes to work each day after having an altercation with his manager. We heard from another member who has been trying to be conscious of how her intake of food is nurturing her Assiatic (physical) body, thereby creating a healthier vessel for her three upper bodies and reflecting how she wants to be "digesting" the food from the upper worlds.

Megan talked about accessing knowledge from past lives and bringing it forward to allow for it to have an impact in our current incarnation as a healing power for our current life. This lead to a discussion of how past life experiences may be in our current Assiatic bodies at a cellular level and the healing may take some time.

We will continue to have "Practical Kabbalah" as our theme.

Remember, this Thursday will be a guided meditation led by Megan.

We invite you to remember your fellow Kabbalists every day at 12 noon.
